The Heat of Battle by AGerst The Heat of Battle by AGerst
Old Man Ezio from Assassin's Creed Revelations fighting off Ottoman and Templer Troops. Caught in the heat of the moment, best time for reflecting - about how many asses one Assassin can kick per day.

Damnit... this picture joined my everyday life for a very long time. I don't know how people do it, because I invested roundabout 40 (forty!) hours into this picture.
Started with a pencil sketch, used no reference at all. Done with GIMP 2.6 and my Wacom Graphire 4 Classic tablet from the stone age.

Don't ask me, why I gave him blue clothes, ususally I played with white or black clothes during the game series 8)

When you compare with my first Assassin pic here, from 2 years ago... I achieved some progress :)
As I tell in my deviantID: Progress is unstoppable, as long as you keep going.

Enjoy and thank you for having a closer look.

Astonishing work! I will tell you that now, that this is just incredibly beautiful! You manage to bring to life a scene from Assassin's Creed, and turn it into something people can say... Immortal.

For starters, I love how you manage to capture the detail of the armor, the blood, the face, and the blade.

Secondly, the background is there, yet the scene is focused on Ezio and the guard. You successfully faded out the second guard like an out-of-focus animation!

Finally, the detail within the armor. The scratches, metal, cut-offs, trim, and everything else is so perfect, it just makes people awe in motion. It's just so unbelievably realistic!

All-in-all, you manage to capture something that will now and forever will be... Immortal.

This picture took me quite some time :P ... but it was an affair of the heart for me to finish, what I left unfinished over half a year ago :) The opponent on the left in the background, he looks a bit too narrow concerning his stature. Besides that I really like it :)

Great work!! As i said before..the details and colors are amazing. The blood also kind of brings a nice slow-motion effect into play (prince of persia style^^)
